Uniting Circle Founder and CEO Mujgan Tahery has supported initiatives that help make health and wellbeing information more accessible and culturally relevant for the Afghan community.
Working alongside health services, Uniting Circle supported a culturally responsive health and wellbeing program designed to create a welcoming environment where community members could access important health information, ask questions and learn about ways to improve their health and wellbeing.
Health Information in a Culturally Supportive Environment
The program provided opportunities for community members to learn about a range of health and wellbeing topics, including healthy living, physical activity, diabetes, oral health and cancer screening.
Providing this information in a culturally appropriate and supportive environment helped community members feel more comfortable engaging with health information and understanding available services and resources.
Connecting Health and Community
For culturally and linguistically diverse communities, access to clear and appropriate health information can play an important role in building confidence and encouraging people to take positive steps towards their wellbeing.
Mujgan’s involvement reflects her ongoing commitment to listening to community needs and supporting programs that bring together health, education and community connection.
Through Uniting Circle, she continues to advocate for inclusive approaches that help people feel welcomed, informed and connected to the support available to them.
