The Sound of Connection was a one-day Mental Health Month event organised by Uniting Circle Multicultural Community Centre (UC), bringing together culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) community members of different ages, cultures and backgrounds through the shared experience of music.

The program provided a welcoming space for participants to connect with others, celebrate cultural diversity and enjoy music in a positive and inclusive environment. Through shared activities and social interaction, the event encouraged community participation, strengthened social connections and promoted awareness of mental wellbeing.

Participants enjoyed the program, took part in the activities and had the opportunity to connect with people from different backgrounds. Gift cards and gifts were also provided to participants in recognition of their involvement and to make the event more memorable.

Impact  

The event created an enjoyable and inclusive experience for participants, encouraging social connection, participation and a sense of belonging. Participants expressed their enjoyment of the program and interest in attending similar activities in the future. They also welcomed the opportunity for UC to organise more programs that bring the community together through music, cultural activities and shared experiences.

The positive feedback highlighted the value of accessible community programs that support mental wellbeing, reduce social isolation and create opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds to connect.
